TIP is a tool intended to make learning and instructional theory more accessible to educators. The database contains brief summarizes of 50 major theories of learning and instruction. These theories can also be accessed by learning domains and concepts. The database does not include theories of learning that have limited scientific support or those which are primarily philosophical in nature (e.g Dewey, Freire, Illich, Polanyi). The author, Greg Kearsley is a professor in the Intructional Technology & Distance Education program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
